Backups and SQL Server
Options you can add to your server, set out in your proposal.
Backup protection
Server-level backup protection is available for Self-Managed VDS and included in Fully Managed VDS proposals. Backup frequency, retention, and recovery options are established for each server configuration.
Microsoft SQL Server
Shared SQL Server hosting is available to HCI hosting customers. On compatible Windows VDS configurations, we install and license a dedicated SQL Server.

How much does a VDS cost?
Every VDS is individually quoted based on its configuration and the management option you choose.
What’s the difference between self-managed and fully managed?
With Self-Managed VDS, you handle the operating system, applications and administration, and we provide setup, infrastructure management and monitoring. With Fully Managed VDS, we manage the server’s operating environment, including updates, firewall and routine administration.
Is website maintenance included?
No. VDS management covers the server, not your website or applications. See Website Maintenance.
Can I run Windows and SQL Server?
Yes. Both options support Linux and Windows. Dedicated SQL Server is available on compatible Windows VDS configurations, and we handle installation and licensing.
When is support available?
Phone and email support is available during normal business hours. Help with critical outages after hours is provided when available. We don’t offer 24/7 staffed support or guaranteed response times unless specifically agreed.
